Preparing the original Arcosanti model at Cosanti on the coldest (notice ice on the model) morning of the year.

This monumental piece was first shown as part of “The Architectural Vision of Paolo Soleri” exhibit which opened at Corcoran gallery in Washington DC in 1970, where the exhibit broke all attendance records at the museum.  It then traveled to the Whitney in New York, followed by Chicago, Berkeley, Ottawa Canada and finally returned to Arizona where it was last exhibited at the Phoenix Art Museum in 1971.
