This past Saturday, July 13th, circus and fire theater group Flam Chen performed at Arcosanti. It was a terrific show, complete with dancing, aerial silks, stilts, and of course, pyrotechnics.

The night began in the Colly Soleri Amphitheater with African drumming group Planet Djembe and Mamaxè Dance Collective. The energy emanating from both the drummers and the dancers was infectious, and soon everyone in the packed amphitheater was dancing or moving along to the rhythms.

The event then moved to the vaults, where the audience was treated to a brilliant performance by Flam Chen, with live music by Richard Noel’s STICKS & FINGERS. An aerialist hung from the top of the vaults on silks and ropes, doing flips and twists, over the stilt performers, who danced and played with fire.

The music was so involving, and the energy of the performers so high, that the audience couldn’t help getting up to dance, and as the performance drew to a close the event transitioned seamlessly into an enormous dance party (curated by DJ FIX).

It was an incredibly energetic and awe inspiring performance, and everyone present had a fabulous time. A big thank you to all the performers, and everyone who came to enjoy the evening with us!
