For the last concert of the Colly Soleri Music Center 2011 season Louisiana blues man Walter Parks graced the stage in the Arcosanti cafe last week Thursday, November 3.

He opened the season with a wonderful performance on February 5. [see posting on February 7. 2011] and his second visit was very much looked forward to.

The evening started with a delicious dinner.

Walter Parks presented an eclectic mix of roots blues and plaintive ballads delivered acoustic with an amazing finger pick style guitar all wrapped up in a very nice guy.

Walter Parks has forged a distinctive international career over the past three decades, as lead guitarist for Woodstock legend Richie Havens, half of the folk-duo The Nudes, and guitarist and leader of the swamp/blues outfit Swamp Cabbage.

This was the first concert at the beginning of a solo acoustic tour through the United States and Canada, interspersed with concerts opening for Judy Collins. In the later part of November he begins a tour with Swamp Cabbage through Spain, see the Walter Parks web-site for dates.

Our best wishes to Walter and Emily Parks and we look forward to their next visit.
