Energy Apron Prototype (Greenhouse)
Energy Apron Phase II, as originally designed, includes a 10,000 sqft small-scale greenhouse prototype incorporating the present guest rooms. The first construction phase consists of one-third (3,400 sqft section that includes two bays 22' wide and 76' long) of the proposed prototype. The project is currently on hold, pending the reassessment of the design and operational issues.
The Goals of this phase are to gain testing and research opportunities for sustainable technologies, climate controled agricultural systems and renewable energy systems, while increasing the capacity for on-site food production.
The Construction of the project is currently on hold, pending the reevaluation of the design and operational issues. The greenhouse terraces were completed with the generous contributions of local industries, providing professional and in-kind donations. The project team that consists of workshoppers, volunteers, interns, and dedicated planning and construction staff, has been the driving force of the project. Please see the ARCONEWS blog for the project progress.
The foundation's 501(c)(3) status may make your donation tax dedactible.
