The DeConcini house was completed in 1982, and its design included great flowing interior spaces, barrel vaults, and a series of integral solar shading devices on east, west and south.[staircase to the second floor, photo and text by Jeff Stein]
The house has been included in several publications, and was featured in “Phoenix Home and Garden” magazine as recently as 2008 in an article by writer and filmmaker Lisa Scafuro. It has been home to three families, the latest being Phoenicians John and Ginny Walsh.[ view from kitchen overlooking family room, photo and text by Jeff Stein]
The Walsh’s recently purchased the DeConcini house and undertook some very sympathetic renovations and upgrades to the property. A reception was held at the house this past season to celebrate Paolo’s – and the Walsh’s – work; Mary Hoadley, Roger Tomalty and Jeff Stein were there.
