On the eve of winter’s arrival, Arcosanti celebrated the holiday season with a pot-luck community dinner on December 13th. An abundance of home-made food, drink and good cheer filled the café as people gathered to enjoy the blessings of each other’s company and the conclusion another year of life at Arcosanti. This year, the festivities included representatives of Pilgrim Africa, a Seattle-based organization whose members have created agriculture, education, and public health programs throughout Uganda.
At the heart of the celebration was the annual gifting of miniature Cosanti Original bronze bells, handcrafted once a year here at the Arcosanti foundry, to everyone in attendance.
One of Arcosanti’s youngest residents, Sasha Tollas, made use of his best elfing skills to assist Cosanti Foundation President Jeff Stein in handing out cards (and hugs). A secret Santa even left a few beautiful sets of art supplies under the tree, surely knowing they would be put to creative use by the Arcosanti community in the new year!
