“They work for me and my name is Paolo.” Workshoppers Shelly, Sarah, and Kim pose during the pour of the base of the last light scoop in Phase Five of
the East Crescent construction. Light scoops are rooms designed with a clerestory and a curved roof.
This design brings light into a room and creates cross ventilation.

Construction crewmembers, Jeff Buderer and Ray Shong fill the crane bucket for the pour.
Syu watches Habitat Manager Dave Tollas, and Foundry Manager Nick Bortel negotiate the bucket to the light scoop formwork.
Crewmembers and workshoppers vibrate the concrete in the formwork to remove air pockets and settle it into place.
