We continue the report about the East Foundry Apartment and surrounding landscape renovation [see posts from 12/16, 12/18 and 12/20/2013].
This whole renovation was designed by planning intern Paul Hernandez. The rounded wall of the planter is to be cast in silt.

Construction chief Dan Reiff and the workshop participants built a solid wooden form for the silt cast.
In the foreground we see the form that now has been cut to accommodate the pour of a rounded planter wall panel.
The crew of workshop participants and volunteers is mixing the silt with water to get perfect consistency for packing.
Silt is shoveled into the form and packed down tight.
The crew is packing the silt into a slope to make a perfect form for the planter panel.
In the next report, scheduled to post on Friday, December 17. we will see photos of the concrete pour of this panel.
