Human Nature Dance Theater presents
Saturady, October 1, 2016
“When does it become necessary to move from one’s home? Think of the phases of life that you must pass through to come to a time, when you pack your essentials and walk out the door, perhaps never to return. We live the american dream of working hard, building a home to raise a family, let them fly and then we settle in to retire. I imagine a disaster that might cause me to build up reserves, cut back on expenses and hunker down in my home. But what if the storm is so severe, that the only recourse is to abandon everything and search out a new land on which to start again. Some of us are living that life now. First one, then another and then entire communities floating over seas, walking across borders and landing in unknown territory with no map of the future, like butterflies.” –HNDT

Human Nature Dance Theatre creates original dance performance, as a collective of cross-disciplinary artists, emphasizing experimental, environmental, and inter-generational perspectives. We intend our work to be a model for how diverse people can support and learn from one another in artistic collaboration. For over twenty years, HNDT has produced original dance evenings at venues like the Colly Soleri Music Center at Arcosanti, Coconino Center for the Arts and Prochnow Auditorium in Flagstaff, the Elks Theater and Granite Street Studio in Prescott, and Headwaters Theater in Portland, Oregon.
