This years title and theme was “Migration”. It was a small group of three people, Paul Moore, Delisa Myles and Jayne Lee, but as in all of the previous years, the intense subject was expressed with a seamless and passionate performance.[photos are stills from a video, sa]
“When does it become necessary to move from one’s home? Think of the phases of life that you must pass through to come to a time, when you pack your essentials and walk out the door, perhaps never to return.
We live the american dream of working hard, building a home to raise a family, let them fly and then we settle in to retire. I imagine a disaster that might cause me to build up reserves, cut back on expenses and hunker down in my home.
But what if the storm is so severe, that the only recourse is to abandon everything and search out a new land on which to start again. Some of us are living that life now. First one, then another and then entire communities floating over seas, walking across borders and landing in unknown territory with no map of the future, like butterflies.” –HNDT
