This past Saturday we enjoyed the first concert of the year.
Performing solo was the blues guitarist Walter Parks, who delighted the audience with a selection of songs that was by turns intimate, thoughtful and amusing.
He played his beloved 1953 Gibson jazz guitar which filled the Crafts III building with a gorgeous rich sound.
Over the past three decades, Walter Parks has forged a distinctive international career as the lead guitarist for Woodstock legend Richie Havens, half of the folk-duo The Nudes, and guitarist and leader of the swamp/blues outfit Swamp Cabbage.
